The first summer installment of the Predator Soccer Camp has come and gone, and all involved considered the event a

success.

“This year’s first camp was the most successful one to date,” Predator camp director Stepan Bardizbanian stated in an e-mail.

Bardizbanian isn’t new to soccer camps — this is the third year he has held the event in Milledgeville. Along with Velko Iotov — a bronze medalist in the 1994 World Cup with the Bulgarian National Team — Bardizbanian teaches the game to area youth.

“The number of children signing up grows each year,” Bardizbanian stated. “Thirty soccer players from in and out of town gathered in the beginning of last week to learn new skills under professional coaching.”

Campers have the option of staying in the dorms at Georgia College and State University, and the camp is held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department. Bardizbanian said the camp is designed to help players improve.

“The Predator Soccer Camp offers an improvement of the players’ technical and tactical skills, as well as physical conditioning,” he stated.

The second Predator Soccer camp of the summer will be held July 23. For more information, contact Bardizbanian at (478) 453-8579.
