The Georgia College women’s basketball program announced the signing of four freshmen for the upcoming 2020-21 season, the first recruiting class under head coach Ross Jolly.

All four hail from the Peach State and will have an opportunity for early contributions.

“We are thrilled to be adding four outstanding young ladies to our group of returners,” said Jolly. “Each signee has chosen to be a piece of the puzzle in building our program. With this class, we will add depth on the court while maintaining our team’s positive identity. We look forward to seeing their growth as student-athletes at Georgia College, as well as the impact that they each will make.”

 

Alexis Figures, 5-8 guard

Figures played at Mill Creek High in Hoschton under head coach Jeremy Huckaby … All-Region First Team … All-County Second Team … Dacula Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team … Played AAU for Peak Performance and coaches Sidney Miller, Tony Gorell and Ty Hodges … Plans to major in Nursing.

Coach Jolly says: “Alexis is a very talented wing player with ability to score the ball. She will be an outstanding addition that will help us make positive steps with our program.”

 

Saliah Ponteau, 5-9 guard

Ponteau played at Peachtree Ridge High in Suwanee for head coach Vanessa White … Honorable Mention All-Region … Plans to major in Computer Science.

Coach Jolly says: “Saliah is a wing player with a great amount of potential. She will provide depth on the wing and make a positive impact with her energy.”

 

Jada Warren, 6-0 forward

Warren played at Norcross High under head coach Ashley Clanton … Honor Graduate … Played AAU for FBC and Coach Kay … Plans to major in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Med.

Coach Jolly says: “Jada is a very hard-working post player that will provide a presence for us in the interior. She has a growing game and will provide defense and rebounding early in her career.”

 

Kya Williams, 5-6 guard

Williams played at Kell High in Marietta under head coach Tony Ingle … Member of the school’s 1,000-point club … All-Region First Team … Played AAU for FBC and Coach Kay … Plans to major in Business with an Art minor.

Coach Jolly says: “Kya is an excellent athlete and will provide depth at the point guard position. She had a great senior season, and we are looking forward to her bringing a winning attitude to our program.”
