Bella Price

Local youth gymnast Bella Price started a fundraiser to purchase materials to make medical masks to help health care workers in the fight against coronavirus COVID-19. Price and her Elite Gym teammates raised $900 towards the cause.

Bella Price, a team gymnast at Elite Gym USA, recently did a fundraiser using her love for gymnastics to help raise money to purchase masks for health care and community heroes.

She did this fundraiser with an organization called Kids Boost.

Price is 10 years old and said this is why she wanted to help: “I know there are a lot of hospitals needing masks right now. Workers need protection because if they are working with people with the virus, they need to be protected. We need to decrease the number of people with the coronavirus. I want to help the people who help others! I found some great masks that can be made for $9 each that we will order and deliver to local hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. I also hope to provide the masks to community heroes like police officers and first responders.”

Price’s fundraiser was called “Gymnastics for Masks” and it challenged kids to create a family gymnastics routine, video it, make a donation, and send the video in for a chance to win a prize. The prize categories were: best overall, funniest, most original, and most creative. Some of Bella’s gymnastics teammates Ava Russell, Kennedie Dyer, CeCe and Nah’Lige Austin participated in the challenge to help her reach her goal of $900 for these much needed masks. Bella may only be 10 years old, but “she believed she could and so she did.”
