CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Georgia College baseball team saw a strong season come to an abrupt halt, closing the abbreviated campaign with their highest national ranking of the season, taking the No. 4 slot in the final DII Poll from Perfect Game.
The Bobcats finished the season 13-2, boasting the second-fewest losses in the Perfect Game DII Top-25. Georgia College hung onto the No. 4 slot for the second-straight week, as the top seven teams featured no change.
GC baseball was tops among the four Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools on the list, joining No. 8 Columbus State University, No. 12 University of North Georgia and No. 23 UNC Pembroke. The top spot once again belonged to Angelo State University.
At the time of the shut down, the Bobcats were tops in the PBC with a .349 batting average as a team. GC ranked fifth in team ERA with a 3.84, and were positioned second in both on-base percentage (.413) and slugging (.513).
