The members of Hopewell Methodist Church, Westview Baptist Church and the Alan McElheney family want to sincerely thank you for supporting our fundraiser barbeque lunch this past Sunday, Feb. 9 held at Hopewell UMC.
We want to thank everyone who purchased tickets to the meal, who donated money, and all of you who prayed for a successful day! Special thanks to Nate Howard for the wonderful article in the Jan. 18 Neighbors section of The Union-Recorder.
We appreciate the tent provided by Williams Funeral Home for our takeout meal pickup, the donations by Piggy Wiggly and Kroger and the Sara Lee Baking Company for their generosity.
Thank you for the delicious homemade cakes made by ladies of Hopewell and Westview as well as other loving friends. These were the perfect addition to Craig Brock’s amazing pulled pork “star-of-the-show” barbeque.
Not only were almost 500 meals prepared and served, but we were able to raise more than half the cost of Alan’s hospital care. Because of the amazing generosity of our friends in Milledgeville and surrounding areas, 100% of all ticket sales and additional donations will go to Alan’s speech therapy at the Aphasia Treatment Center in St. Petersburg, Fla.
THANK YOU… and If you missed the opportunity to give to this cause, the fund is still accepting donations at www.hopewellumcmilledgevillega.org. Click on “Give Today” and select “McElheney Fund Raiser.” Or, you may contact Brad or Gail Oliver at 478-363-1012.
