Letter to the Editor

On June 20, during an NAACP local charity ride and fundraiser event, my husband, the Rev. Edward Jackson, collapsed due to heat exhaustion. Because of that, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Sheriff Bill Massee and several of his team of deputies who went above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect. Sheriff Massee and his deputies were on their knees rendering aid, along with the Milledgeville Cruisers President, Donald Tuff, Katie Collins, Vincent Edwards, Tina Huff and Bruce and Ann Chatman. I do believe these heroes saved my husband’s life, and we thank each and every one of you greatly.

Rev. Edward and Brenda Jackson
