I think it was Benjamin Franklin who said nothing in this word is certain but death and taxes. To my way of thinking, neither one is very pleasant.

While scanning the various media outlets this week, I ran across the story of Jonathan Kerr. You may have seen that Jonathan suffered from terminal liver cancer, and it was the 10-year-old boy’s wish to go bear hunting with his father.

His wish was granted by some really nice people in British Columbia as Jonathan and his father, Bruce, spent a week hunting bear. Jonathan saw several bear and even got off one shot, but when it became apparent that he was too weak to hold a gun, his father bagged the prize that had kept Jonathan alive with excitement.

The bear was butchered, the meat frozen, and arrangements were made for the hide to be tanned into a rug and sent back to Kennesaw where Jonathan and his family live.
