Letter to the Editor

While traveling I met a woman that lived in Russia. She told me her grandmother had to get up at 4 a.m. to go to the store so she could try to buy a loaf of bread with a silver coin. Her grandma waited outside in a long line for hours only to find that the shelves were empty. The woman I spoke with said that she came to America for freedom and peace of mind. Now, she is seeing America going in the same direction as the Russian Soviet Communist Party. In Russia, it was different religious beliefs that divided the people. This gave the Russian Soviet Communist Party the power and control over the people. She said she is seeing the same thing happening in America. When some of the leaders of our government are constantly using the race card to divide and control the American people when government changes the voting rules to benefit their party; when freedom of speech is being threatened by people losing their jobs because certain people disagree with what they said, many other Constitutional rights are slowly being taken away. To me, that is the definition of communism.
