Cindy Nunn and Andy Dunn, along with their staff at Tent-Sational Events in Milledgeville, were all smiles Saturday night at the Magnolia Ballroom on the campus of Georgia College after being named the 2019 Small Business of the Year by the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce. Also posing with them the business is Angie Martin, president and CEO of the chamber of commerce, along with David Dyer, a local businessman and chamber board member.

Cindy Nunn and Andy Dunn were about as excited as two people could be when it was announced Saturday night that their business, Tent-Sational Events, had been named the 2019 Small Business of the Year.

A thunderous round of applause burst out in the standing-room-only Magnolia Ballroom on the campus of Georgia College Saturday night when Alicia Dallago announced this year’s top business. The annual awards gala is hosted by the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce. Dillago’s former business, Scenic Mountain RV Park, was the recipient of the prestigious honor a year ago.

Hugs from friends and chamber officials greeted Nunn and Dunn, as they moved from their seats at the head tables to make their way to the stage.

“I’m speechless,” said Nunn, as she stood at the podium. “We’ve been here three of the last four years to share our video. We are so honored and so blessed to be part of the chamber and to live in Milledgeville and Baldwin County and to be welcomed as we are in our business.”

Nunn told the large audience there was no way that Tent-Sational Events would be the successful business it is today were it not for many of those in attendance Saturday evening.

She pointed out that many in the crowd had called to rent from their business over the last several years and how deeply appreciative she and her staff were to the people of this community.

“We go to church with half of the people in this room,” said Nunn with a big smile. “We’ve all been to Bodyplex; we’ve eaten at The Local Yolkal Cafe; and we invest with Wells Fargo. We’re committed — you know everybody in this room.”

Nunn said she and her staff couldn’t do what they do at Tent-Sational Events without their support.

She said nothing was more pleasing to her and her staff than when they are able to make their customers happy.

Nunn said that’s the satisfaction that she and her staff get when they have stayed up many hours working and sweating and setting up an event to make it as special as possible.

“We just appreciate being a part of the chamber; and we appreciate the reception we’ve had here in Milledgeville, thank y’all,” said Nunn.

Saturday’s event also recognized Baldwin County School District Teacher of the Year Sarah Tanner, Rising Star Award recipient Sinclair Reserve Realty and the Chamber Ambassador of the Year, Jordan Norville.
