Closings & Delays

A list of area closures and school-related updates: 

Central Georgia Technical College

Effective immediately, and through March 27, Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) will transition almost all instruction to online or distance education format. Spring break (March 30-April 3) will continue as scheduled. Students are instructed to check their CGTC email account for additional guidance. 

Oconee Fall Line Technical College

All campuses closed through March 27. 


Milledgeville Prep

Campus closed through March 27. Students need to complete lessons online.


Georgia College

All students to depart campus by the end of the day on Friday, March 13 and to remain away from campus until March 29.


Baldwin County School District

The Central Georgia Relays, slated for Saturday, March 14 at Baldwin High School have been postponed.


Washington County Schools

All school-related activities cancelled for students and staff through Tuesday, March 17.


GMC Prep School

GHSA has canceled the state literary competition, so GMC Prep School will not host the event on campus this weekend. Classes are not closed but spring athletics are canceled through March 27.


Putnam County Charter School System

Online/Distance Learning (students will not report to school) for the week of March 16-20. Teachers and staff will report Monday, March 16 at 8 a.m. System will re-evaluate hursday, March 19, and determine if continued Online/Distance Learning is needed.


John Milledge Academy

All GISA athletics suspended through April 10. Games scheduled for Friday, March 13 will be played. 


Brentwood School

Students, faculty will not report and campus is to students through Friday, April 10 (end of Spring Break). All academic, athletic, and professional development activities suspended Saturday, March 14 through Friday, April 10.


Hancock County Schools

Closed March 16-20. A re-consideration of the next steps will be made by Friday, March 20.


Washington County Relay for Life

Due to Oconee Fall Line Technical College in Sandersville temporarily closed down, the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Washington County unfortunately has to cancel the 2020 Cancer Survivor Dinner scheduled for Monday, March 16.

Department of Historic Museums at Georgia College

Andalusia, Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion and the Sallie Ellis Davis House will be canceling all tours, rentals and public programming through March 29. Regular hours of operation will resume March 31.
