A suspect is in custody and has been charged with the murder of Lamarcus Cornelius Brown.
According to a press release issued late Tuesday afternoon by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Tyree Derion Ingram, 20, was charged Tuesday with murder, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a first offender felon, theft by receiving stolen property and VGCSA - possession of cocaine.
The 27-year-old Brown, who worked at a Dollar General Store in Milledgeville, was found shot multiple times inside his silver Nissan Altima shortly before 8 a.m. last Friday.
The preliminary investigation into the case revealed that Brown was shot several hours earlier and driven to the scene where his car was discovered by a passerby who then called authorities.
His car was partially in the roadway near the intersection of Davis Drive and Jackson Street.
Brown was pronounced dead at 9 a.m. by Baldwin County Chief Deputy Coroner Ken Garland.
“The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community for their response to this incident,” stated the press release. “Our staff attributes the quick resolution to this investigation to the members of the community that worked with our Investigators to provide much-needed information."
“This arrest illustrates a combination of a great investigation and assistance from the citizens of our community,” stated the release.
Ingram remains jailed without bond at the Baldwin County Jail.
