Man shot; authorities releasing few details

A Saturday night shooting that left a 43-year-old Baldwin County man wounded remains under investigation by local and state law enforcement authorities.

The shooting happened about 8:19 p.m. at a residence at 260 Pettigrew Road, Lot A, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Howard Pena said in a brief incident report.
The victim was identified as Brandon Davis of Milledgeville, according to a press release from Lydia Bullard, a public affairs specialist with the Office of Public & Governmental Affairs with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The victim’s condition was not known as of late Monday afternoon nor was it known whether he was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Local and state law enforcement authorities have released few details concerning the shooting.
Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Brad King, commander of the criminal investigation division, referred all questions related to the shooting to the GBI when reached Monday by The Union-Recorder for comment.
Repeated attempts by the newspaper to reach Mary Chandler, special agent in-charge of the GBI Region Office in Milledgeville, for follow-up questions related to the shooting were also unsuccessful.

Before the shooting, Baldwin County E-911 Center received a telephone call requesting that a deputy check their property on Pettigrew Road, which runs between Georgia Route 22 and Georgia Route 49, according to the GBI press release.
“The caller stated they believed a person was on their property who was not supposed to be there,” authorities said.
That call was made about 7:40 p.m.
When deputies with the sheriff’s office arrived at the location, they found no one there.
About 8:20 p.m., meanwhile, an E-911 dispatcher received another phone call indicating there had been a shooting and Davis was wounded, according to the press release.
Davis was reportedly wounded by a man identified by the GBI as Lee Ingram, 36, of Milledgeville.
As of Monday afternoon, no charges had been filed in connection with the shooting.
According to the GBI, the two men are neighbors.
Special agents with the GBI Region 6 Office in Milledgeville are working with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office to gather all the details at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing, according to the GBI press release.
