A 58-year-old Milledgeville man involved in a two-vehicle crash on Allen Memorial Drive near North Main Street in Milledgeville last Tuesday night has been charged with several traffic-related offenses, including driving while on drugs, local authorities say.
Fortunately, no one reported was injured as a result of the wreck.
The man who reportedly caused the wreck was identified Efrem West, according to a report from the Georgia State Patrol post in Milledgeville.
West was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, following too closely, hit-and-run, failure to maintain lane, and driving without a license on person, records show.
West was taken to the Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center where he was jailed.
The wreck happened when the driver of a Chevrolet Impala slowed to make a left turn into a private driveway and was struck in the rear by a Nissan Frontier pickup truck driven by West, according to a state patrol report.
After impact, the truck veered to the right and then overturned.
