Baldwin County middle and high school students can begin free tutoring and weekend activities in September — thanks to an $800,000 grant provided by Georgia Department of Education.

The grant will fund the Milledgeville YES (Youth Enrichment Services) 21st Century Community Learning Center, which is a partnership between Baldwin County Recreation Department, GCSU and Baldwin County Schools with help from Baldwin Connect.

The five-year grant could be worth up to $3.8 million.

Students will receive up to two hours of academic work and tutoring from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning Sept. 10.
