— High speed chase

Tremayan Centrall Thomas, 26, of Macon, was arrested Thursday night after a high-speed chase with deputies. Two more suspects, including the driver, are still at large. A deputy was checking speeds on Ga. Highway 112 when a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup registered 112 mph in a 55 mph zone. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle and followed it until it turned onto a Jesse Scott Road driveway. Three black males jumped out of the vehicle and fled. The deputy followed until the men disappeared into a wooded area. A call soon came in that one of the men, Thomas, had stolen a bicycle. Another deputy stopped Thomas and arrested him. Thomas said a man by the name of Travis Smith was the driver. Thomas also reportedly said a man named Louis Huley had loaned the vehicle to Smith and was one of the passengers. Smith was charged with obstruction of an officer and theft by taking, a sheriff’s report states.
