The abundant rainfall and dark, gloomy day failed to damper Christmas spirit in Milledgeville.

Santa arrived on time delivering thousands of goodies to area children despite the overcast, foggy weather.

Children played inside Christmas Day with electronic toys, Barbies and old-fashioned board games while the rain fell outside. New bikes, go-carts, skateboards and scooters sat idle in the corner.

With temperatures remaining steady throughout the day in the mid 50s and rainfall totaling about an inch, area children’s hopes and dreams of a white Christmas fell by the wayside again this year.
