Milledgeville Main Street, Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, and the fine small businesses of Milledgeville have joined forces to promote this national movement: Small Business Saturday. First observed in 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to shop small.

By shopping small and staying local the money spent stays local and helps to sustain the community’s workforce and improve the local economy.

According to a 2022 Small Business Economic Impact Study from American Express, for every $1 spent at small businesses $0.68 stays in the community. Merchants throughout Milledgeville will offer a wide selection of deals on Small Business Saturday.

Main Street encourages holiday shoppers to invest those dollars back into the community this holiday season.

To encourage Small Business Saturday participation, Main Street has a fun promotion, along with the sales and specials that each business will have. On Small Business Saturday, spend $30 at any small business and be entered to win a $50 Milly Money Gift Certificate.

Just bring the receipt to the Milledgeville Main Street office on Nov. 28to be entered to win. The contest winner will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 29on Facebook Live.

Give back to these merchants who give Milledgeville great places to eat, shop, play and are often the sponsors for our local sports, dance and other teams.
