A local juvenile faces charges after an attempted armed robbery of a postal worker at a Grandview Drive location.
The incident happened around 3:23 p.m. Wednesday, according to a press release from the Milledgeville Police Department.
According to the release, officers received a call in regards to an attempted armed robbery at gunpoint of a U.S. postal worker in the 2400 block of Grandview Drive. Once at the location, the victim proceeded to give the responding officers a detailed description of the suspect’s clothing and physical attributes. Within minutes, officers located a juvenile male, matching the description, on the porch of a residence in the 2300 block of Laura Court.
“The victim was able to positively identify the juvenile male as the offender,” said Major Michael Hudson, MPD’s Criminal Investigation Commander. “Once identified, a complaint form was completed for the charge of armed robbery and he was detained by the Department of Juvenile Justice.”
At this time, the case is still under investigation.
