GREENSBORO, Ga. — A 24-year-old Greensboro man is being sought on outstanding criminal warrants in connection with a child pornography investigation underway by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, local authorities say.
The suspect still had not been arrested as early Monday afternoon, according to Greene County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Capt. Lee Stancill.
Stancill, who is leading the investigation, said warrants for three counts of sexual exploitation of children had been taken out against the suspect and that additional charges were expected to be filed against the suspect stemming from the ongoing investigation.
Stancill, who also is the sheriff’s office public information officer, identified the suspect as Esbin Carrillo-Lopez, who had been living at a residence in Greensboro.
“As a result of this investigation, a search warrant was served at a residence in Greensboro last week in which several electronic devices belonging to three occupants there were seized as evidence,” Stancill said in a press release Monday. “Carrillo-Lopez was identified as one of the occupants of the home.”
During a closer examination of the electronic devices in the digital forensics lab, Stancill determined that Carillo-Lopez possessed obscene material Involving children. The investigator subsequently filed criminal charges against the suspect at that time.
Following the execution of the search warrant at the residence last week, Carillo-Lopez has failed to show up at his place of employment.
Stancill has reason to believe that the suspect has fled the area.
Carillo-Lopez could be using aliases.
“Carillo-Lopez could be using any number of variations of his name, including Esbin Carrillo or Esbin Noelio Carrillo,” Stancill said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Esbin Carrillo-Lopez is asked to call the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Crimestoppers Tip Line at 706-453-3366 or Capt. Stancill directly at 706-523-6468.
