THOMASVILLE — Two Southern Pines residents tested positive for the coronavirus and are hospitalized.
The residents left Southern Pines, a senior living community, campus for medical reasons.
They were taken by ambulance to the Archbold Memorial Hospital emergency room and admitted to the hospital last week, said Christy Ridenhower, Southern Pines executive director.
“They were tested at the hospital at my request. They are still at the hospital. They are doing great,” Ridenhower said.
The 423 Covington Ave. facility has no active positive virus tests and no virus symptoms on the campus.
Residents’ temperature is checked, and respiratory symptoms are monitored every four hours.
Temperatures of all employees are checked three times on each shift.
“It is very important for people to practice social distancing and to take this seriously,” Ridenhower said.
