The death of a Milledgeville man whose naked body was found lying in the yard of a residence on the 400 block of East Franklin Street last Friday morning remains under investigation by local authorities.
Baldwin County Chief Deputy Coroner Ken Garland identified the victim as Roderick Lamar May, who lived on the 1000 block of North Wayne Street.
Garland said an autopsy to determine the exact cause of the victim’s death was performed Friday afternoon at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory in Macon. The results of the autopsy still were pending as of Monday afternoon.
The deputy coroner said there were no visible signs of trauma to the victim’s body.
May was found unresponsive in the yard of a residence on East Franklin Street, shortly before 6 a.m. Friday, according to an incident report filed by an officer with the Milledgeville Police Department.
A few minutes afterward, personnel with Grady Emergency Medical Services arrived.
Garland said he pronounced May dead at 6:41 a.m.
A joint death investigation remains underway by the Milledgeville Police Department and Baldwin County Coroner’s Office.
