EATONTON, Ga. — The bodies of two people were discovered in Eatonton this morning and now local and state law enforcement authorities are involved in a joint investigation to figure out what happened.
The bodies of the victims, whose names have not yet been made public, were discovered on the Sparta Highway, according to Special Agent Mary Chandler, assistant agent in-charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 6 Office in Milledgeville.
“The initial call call was at 9:30 a.m. this morning,” Chandler told The Union-Recorder via email. “Two victims were located at the scene.”
Chandler said the scene was secured and agents with the GBI are working closely with Eatonton police in an attempt to obtain additional information.
Authorities have not said how the victims might have died at this time.
