Theft by taking
An officer responded to First Baptist Church on South Liberty Street Wednesday shortly after 10 a.m. in reference to a theft. The complainant said someone stole the catalytic converter from the blue 1998 Super Wagon he had parked there. The complainant said someone told him the van was louder than normal. When he looked underneath the van, he noticed that the pipe was cut and the converter was missing. The complainant said that the church has surveillance cameras, but another van was blocking the view of the incident.
An officer responded to the Super Inn on North Columbia Street shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday after a reported burglary. The complainants said they believed someone used a key card to enter their room between 5 and 7 p.m. the previous day. They said multiple prescription medications were missing, including 51 Klonopin pills, 27 Soma pills, 45 Hyrdrocodone pills, 25 Xanax pills, 25 Soma 350 pills and 30 Promethazine pills.
The complainants also said they were out of town between Dec. 29, 2019 and Jan. 3, 2020 and someone entered their room and took a Galaxy S3 or S4.
