The following is information compiled from public records of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. Milledgeville Police Department

Fraud

An officer spoke by phone with a man who stated that he had been notified by his bank that there were several unusual charged made to his debit cart. He said all of the charges were made to Lyft and that they totaled around $46. He said that his last purchase on the card was on Sept. 9, and that he had withdrawn some money from an ATM at a convenience store located in the 900 block of North Columbia Street. He was advised to cancel the debit card and closely monitor his account for fraudulent activity. 

Robbery

An officer spoke with a woman on Oc. 11 who said that she had been robbed. She stated that as she was walking home from the downtown area, she was approached by a man wearing a white T-shirt. She said the man started talking to her and that he was very friendly. Then, she said she grew uncomfortable and she tried to walk away. She stated that he then “flipped a switch” and began to attack her. She said he grabbed her purse and she began fighting him off. The man knocked her down a took her purse. She provided a description and said that after the incident, she ran home. The woman sustained minor injuries during the attack. The woman took the officer to the exact location where the incident occurred, near the 300 block of South Wayne Street. The officer located security cameras from several businesses as part of the investigation.
