Damage to Property
An officer responded Jan. 25, to a medical office located in the 1200 block of Columbia Drive in reference to damage to property. The officer spoke with a staff member who said when employees arrived at work around 8 a.m. they noticed someone had spray painted the front door of the office. They said this has happened multiple times in the past. The officer observed the damage which appeared to be a gold “X” with the letters “M”, “V”, and “B” surrounding it. No other businesses in the area were damaged, and there were no cameras pointing in the direction of the office on other businesses. Photos of the damage were taken and uploaded for evidence.
An officer responded to the 100 block of West Hancock Street and spoke with a man who said he was the victim of an armed robbery. The man said while at the Budget Inn on East Hancock Street, he was robbed by four people with a machete. He said he was approached by a man that he knows only as “Reggie” who, with machete in hand, told him “give me the fifty dollars you owe me or I’ll cut you.” He said he threw $50 on the ground along with his EBT card, and the man started running westbound onto East Hancock Street. The man’s EBT card was later recovered.
