Theft by Taking

An officer spoke with a woman on Oct. 31 outside Foundation Hall (Georgia College). The woman said she lost her cellphone around 3:30 a.m. at The Velvet Elvis on West Hancock Street. She said she called the restaurant to see if someone had turned it in and was told that the case had been found but no phone. She said she used the Find My iPhone app and located the phone charging at the corner of Franklin and South Tattnall streets.

Theft

An officer spoke with a woman at the Jet Foods on Hancock Street in reference to a theft. The woman said that a man entered the store and began putting items in his pockets. She said the man left the store without paying and headed in the direction of the Budget Inn on East Hancock Street. The woman said the man had previously entered the store and put other items into his pockets before leaving. Jet Foods staff stated the manager would be notified to contact law enforcement in the morning in order to review security footage of the incident.
