Criminal Trespassing/Aggravated Assault
An officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Turkey Run on Feb. 28. He spoke to a man and woman in reference to their son discharging a firearm in the city limits. The officer retrieved a black Block 9mm pistol from a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, which was left running in the driveway. The officer went up to the residence and saw the son in the living room. His mother said that she did not know whether or not he had another weapon on him. The officer discovered the man standing in the living room with a shotgun. He then went to his bedroom “where he was extremely irate and violently destroying his bedroom.” He then went outside, got into the Impala and “aggressively began to drive off at a high rate speed through the woods located on the west side of Turkey Run.” The officer witnessed him strike several trees as he fled the area. The officer followed in his patrol vehicle but later returned to the scene. He spoke with the man’s dad, who said that the man had earlier fired his handgun in his bedroom toward the floor. He said his son also struck his Mercury Cougar on the driver’s side door earlier in the day. Photographs were taken and a Victim’s Bill of Rights pamphlet was issued. Warrants were taken out on the son for two counts of aggravated assault and obstruction of officer.
