Due to a water main leak, the isolation of  water on South Wayne Street  from Green Street to Swint Avenue could cause water pressure in this area to drop to dangerously low levels. When this occurs, a potential health hazard may exist in the areas of zero pressure. The isolation and repairs are scheduled for Monday February 10, 2020 at 7 p.m.  and could take several hours.

In order to protect the public from a potential health hazard, all citizens that have experienced water outages and/or low water pressures in this area, are advised to boil all water prior to use for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by the City of Milledgeville personnel that the water system in this area has been restored to full operation and that the microbiological quality of the water in distribution system is safe for human consumption.
