Charles and Melba Burrell recently turned over the keys to a building that was built for a new bookstore to be located at 1905 N. Columbia St., the former Express Auto & Tire.

The Burrells bought the property in 1991 from Wall Tire and operated a tire and repair business at the location until 2019. The Burrells have previously built spaces for Little Caesars and Middle Georgia Hearing at the same location. The Express Tire & Auto was relocated  to Valvoline Xpress Care & Wash at 1897 N. Columbia St., a business owned by the Burrells since 1990.

Charles Burrell said hat he worked with Patty Burns of Fickling & Co. to find the best tenant possible for the space. Burns and  Fickling & Co. were also instrumental in working with the Burrells to secure the other businesses located at 1905 N. Columbia St

Burrell also stated that the work of Jarrod Bath, contractor, on the project was outstanding  in turning this space into a bookstore.

The Burrells are excited to welcome Walls of Books, owned by Scott McElheney, to the community.
