Baldwin BOE
With the upcoming start date for the new school year fast approaching, schools in the Baldwin County School District are making plans to hold open house to provide additional information to parents. The first day of school is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19.
“Our open house is a great opportunity for parents to learn about the expectations of a new grade level and meet the teachers and support staff,” said Dr. Noris Price, Baldwin County School superintendent.
Fall 2020-2021 open house dates for Baldwin County families and students, both new and returning, are slated for the weeks of Aug. 10 and Aug. 17, on specific days and times for each school and grade level. In-person Open House is only for those students whose parents have selected traditional in-person instruction. Students who will participate in remote learning for the new school year will receive a virtual Open House link from their assigned teacher on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
In order to keep everyone safe during Open House, administrators ask that parents and visitors adhere to the following safety measures and social distancing guidelines:
  • All parents and visitors are REQUIRED to wear a mask when they enter the building. Do not remove your mask while inside the schools. Masks are to be worn throughout your time in the building.
  • Six feet of social distancing is REQUIRED and will be reinforced.
  • There will be only one visitor per student allowed at Open House. This means no siblings will be able to accompany students and parents. Only the student may come with the parent.
  • It is very important to adhere to the schedule of Open House that is provided. Time slots have been created to allow for social distancing and fewer people in the buildings at the same time.
  • Temperatures will be checked upon entry. If you have a temperature of 100.4 or higher you will NOT be able to attend the Open House.
  • If you are feeling sick or have been around others with COVID-19 or anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, please refrain from visiting our school campuses.
