Baldwin BOE

The Baldwin County Board of Education will hold a FY2021 public budget hearing, work session and regular meeting via teleconference beginning at 5:30 p.m. today. Superintendent Dr. Noris Price and the local task force making plans for the start of next school year are set to present those plans during the regular meeting. All meetings are accessible to the public by calling 1-224-420-9945 and entering the PIN 178400946#. This month’s agenda is as follows:

  • call to order;
  • Pledge of Allegiance;
  • roll call;
  • approve the adoption of the agenda for the July 7, 2020 board meeting as presented;
  • community/public participation;
  • presentation on the plan for reopening schools;
  • approve the minutes for meetings held on June 9, 2020;
  • approve the TAVT, sales and use tax reports for the period ending June 30, 2020 for information purposes only;
  • approve the July 7, 2020 personnel recommendations as presented;
  • approve the adoption of the FY2021 budget as presented;
  • approve the elections results resolution as presented;
  • approve the name change from Ombudsman Program to Baldwin Success Academy as presented;
  • approve Tyler Technologies, Inc. licensing contract for the period from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 in the amount of $86,102.97;
  • approve the purchase of Edgenuity Courseware online learning solution for Baldwin High School, Oak Hill Middle School, Lakeview Primary, Lakeview Academy, Midway Hills Primary and Midway Hills Academy in the amount of $66,822.50;
  • old business;
  • new business;
  • superintendent’s report on the summer school program, Baldwin High School graduation, school nutrition update, ombudsman update, Back to School Bash, new teacher orientation, convocation, district-wide open house and first day of school;
  • executive session (if needed);
  • open session; and 
  • adjournment.
