Baldwin BOE

The Baldwin County Board of Education meets today for its monthly work session and regular meeting at the board office located on North ABC Street. Due to social distancing requirements, attendance is limited to 50 people. Here is the agenda for this month’s regular meeting:

  • call to order;
  • Pledge of Allegiance;
  • roll call;
  • approve the adoption of the agenda for the Jan. 12, 2021 board meeting;
  • community/public participation;
  • election of board chair and vice chair;
  • setting of time, date and place for board work sessions and regular meetings;
  • election of GSBA legislative liaison, legislative liaison alternate, Head Start liaison and Baldwin County Charter System Foundation of Excellence trustee;
  • approve the board work session and meeting minutes for meetings held Dec. 8, 2020;
  • approve the TAVT, financial, sales and use tax report for the period ending Dec. 31, 2020;
  • approve the January 2021 personnel recommendations as presented;
  • ratify awarding IFB# 010-2021 worker’s compensation insurance plan for 2021 to the Georgia School Boards Association in the amount of $258,099 annually;
  • approve awarding IFB# 006-2021 to ACS for ionization modules and installation in the amount of $213,064;
  • approve awarding REP# 009-2021 splash pad design and construction services for the Early Learning Center to Great Southern Recreation in the amount of $110,000;
  • approve the awarding of REF# 004-2021 for playground equipment repairs and/or replacement for Lakeview Primary, Midway Hills Primary, Lakeview Academy and Midway Hills Academy in the amount of $393,846.60;
  • approve policy BCBI: public participation in board meetings to be tabled for 30 days;
  • old business;
  • new business;
  • recondition of Pursuit of Excellence winners;
  • recognition of the Baldwin Board of Education as an exemplary board by GSBA;
  • recognition of the Baldwin BOE by Milledgeville City Council and Baldwin County Commissioners for being selected as the 2020 Georgia Charter System of the Year;
  • superintendent’s report on the charter system renewal application; Martin Luther King Jr. holiday celebration hosted by the Georgia College Cultural Center and Office of Inclusive Excellence; and graduation plan for 2021;
  • executive session; and
  • adjournment.
