Baldwin BOE

The Baldwin County Board of Education is set to hold its regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at the board office located on North ABC Street. This month’s agenda is as follows:

  • call to order;
  • Pledge of Allegiance;
  • roll call;
  • approve the adoption of the agenda for the Sept. 10, 2019 board meeting as presented;
  • Community and public participation;
  • approve the minutes for meetings held on Aug. 12, 2019 and Aug. 13, 2019 as presented;
  • approve the TAVT, sales, and use tax report for the period ending Aug. 31, 2019 for all funds for information purposes only;
  • approve the financial report for the Early Learning Center for the period ending Aug. 31, 2019;
  • approve the September 2019 personnel recommendations as presented;
  • approve the membership for FY20 for the Oconee Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) in the amount of $28,424;
  • approve the renewal of NCS Pearson SuccessMaker software for Oak Hill Middle School, Lakeview Academy, and Midway Hills Academy in the amount of $62,748 as presented;
  • approve the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant for Baldwin STEAM Academy at Midway Hills Academy in the amount of $264,427 and Baldwin STEAM Academy 2.0 at Midway Hills Primary and Lakeview Primary I the amount of $350,000 as presented;
  • approve the food nutrition supper program application as presented;
  • approve 63 Lenovo laptops, 38 Dell desktops, 193 Dell notebooks, 22 Dell laptops, three wood carts, and 115 Chromebooks to be declared as surplus;
  • approve the awarding of RFP #012-2019 to Thornton Brothers for custodial supplies; 
  • old business;

  • recognition of Pursuit of Excellence winners;
  • recognition of school-based Speech Language Pathologists Week, Sept. 9-12, 2019;
  • presentation on the FY2020 career, technical and agricultural education (CTAE) methods of administration office for civil rights compliance review;

  • distinguished alumni update;
  • Georgia DOE letter of appreciation to the school nutrition program for its seamless summer option review;
  • whole board governance training scheduled for Monday, Oct. 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Baldwin County BOE building;
  • REACH scholarship signing ceremony, Oct. 24, 2019 at Oak Hill at 9:30 a.m.
  • Teacher of the Year banquet, Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at 6 p.m. at the Georgia College Magnolia Ballroom;
  • Georgia School Boards Association 2019 awards and recognition program;
