The intersection of Cline Avenue and Pinewood Drive in Milledgeville will be closed to through traffic for the next 14 days. The intersection will open back up as soon as pipe installation is complete.
Lockerly Arboretum presents its new fall tradition - the Scarecrows in the Arboretum Contest. The contest is open to all individuals, families, businesses, organizations and schools. Scarecrows will be on exhibit throughout the Arboretum during the month of October. Visitors and exhibitors may cast their votes for “Best in Show” and “Best in Class.” The deadline for entries is Sept. 26. Sacred Heart Catholic Church Helping Hands Society has confirmed its annual Helping Hands Society Fundraiser to be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Georgia College University Banquet Room. A $35 ticket will allow access to bid on a variety of unique items in the silent and live auction, fun games and raffles and delicious food with one free drink ticket. A cash bar will also be available.
