Three floors of the James E. Baugh barracks at Georgia Military College are now filled with cadets.
The 57,465-square-foot building which houses 62 suites and is wired for computers and central heating and air is definitely a step up from the cadets previous living quarters.
“It’s a wonderful transition,” Cadet Col. Jared Smith said. “There is more space with nicer living conditions — air conditioning, cable, Internet. It’s all around a lot better.”
The building has three floors, and each cadet has a closet, a loft bed and a desk. They’ll share a communal bathroom with the room next to theirs and each floor will have a community area at the end of the hallway for students to rest, relax or just watch television.
