MILLEDGEVILLE — Terry’s Auto Clinic on South Elbert Street is a family-owned and operated auto repair and maintenance business that is currently in the care of a second-generation owner.

Terry Dominy, who first opened the doors to the auto care facility in 1988, passed the torch of ownership to his son, Kevin, in 2012.

According to Kevin, after 24 years of working hard, his father felt it was time to retire and allow another generation to operate the business.

“My dad started the business when he was in his 40s but now that he’s older he decided to let me run it while he takes time to enjoy life,” said Dominy.

Like father like son - although Dominy became the owner in 2012, he said he’s been working alongside his father ever since 2000.

All employees are trained to work on all car makes and models, from the headlights to the taillights and every part in between.

“All of our technicians are ASE certified and go through continuous education classes twice a year to stay up to date on all best practices and troubleshooting techniques,” he said.

The company is a member of the Automotive Service Association of Georgia and offers a wide range of services to customers. Services include but are not limited to A/C systems, batteries, belts and hoses, brakes, cooling systems, emission repairs and maintenance, engine repair and maintenance, exhaust systems repair and maintenance, fuel systems repair, oil changes and lubrication, road trip inspections, steering suspension repair, transmission service, tune ups and warning light diagnostics. Terry’s also has new and used tires of various brands in its inventory.

According to Dominy, customers continue to come to Terry’s because of the excellent service they receive.

“We offer the best prices, the best services, and the best warranty in Milledgeville.”

As local residents of Milledgeville, Dominy said he and his father have always treated their customers like family. He added that they have been known to treat all customers with respect whether from Milledgeville or passing through the city.

“Car trouble is car trouble, no matter where you’re from or who you are,” he said. “The main thing is to get you back on the road by doing things right the first time.”

He added that they use the latest in computerized and technologically advanced equipment to ensure that a customer’s vehicle performs to its maximum ability and at its best efficiency.

Located at 1019 South Elbert St., Terry’s Auto Clinic is staffed with four employees in addition Dominy who are available Monday through Friday to answer all of your auto care concerns. Terry’s is open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on weekends.
