Law enforcement conducts warrant round up

MILLEDGEVILLE — Thursday afternoon, local law enforcement agencies, working with the U.S. Marshall service, made arrests in a warrant round up operation.

Around 5:30 p.m. May 29, law enforcement from the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force, Georgia State Patrol, Milledgeville Police Department, Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and the State Probation Office partnered with U.S. Marshalls to meet at various locations in the area to serve active arrest warrants.

"This was a joint effort that we do every year," said Capt. Brad King of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. "We have a compiled list of offenders with active warrants, and we pool our resources together to bring them in."

By midnight, all warrants were served and six people were arrested.

The six people arrested included:

Dontavious Dixon, probation;

Robert Henslee, terroristic threats;

Mario Finney, probation, failure to appear, possession of a firearm by a felon;

Cathy Bell, probation, forgery;

Tammi McMullen, probation, obstruction of an officer, tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, possession of drug use and related items, possession of heroin, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit a crime;

Joseph McMullen, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, possession of drug use and related items, possession of heroin, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit a crime.

"It's a good feeling when multiple agencies come together to bring those individuals to justice," said Maj. Reginald Hill of the Milledgeville Police Department.

Wednesday, May 28, law enforcement agencies also partnered with U.S. Marshalls to assist in a mass check of listed sex offenders within the area.

According to King, the operation ran smoothly and was wrapped up around 10 p.m.

"I appreciate everyone involved in the round up, and it's nice to see law enforcement working together for a common goal," Hill said.
