Saturday voting opens at 9 a.m.

MILLEDGEVILLE — There's one week left to cast a ballot during early voting.

Early voting for primary and nonpartisan elections began statewide April 28 and will end May 16.

Out of the 23,464 registered voters in Baldwin County, few have taken advantage of the early voting time allotment thus far.

"Our office has received 521 voters during early voting and 121 ballots have been mailed," said said Elizabeth Rodgers, chief deputy registrar of Baldwin County Board of Registrars.

Out of the 121 ballots that were mailed to voters, the office has received 56 returned ballots thus far.

"There's still time to take part in early voting this Saturday," she said.

Early voting continues Saturday at the Baldwin County Courthouse in Hearing Room 104 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

"The last day our office can mail an absentee ballot for early voting is Friday, May 16," she said.

Subsequent to that date, voters will be required to vote at their assigned polling location on Election Day, which is Tuesday, May 20 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

"All voters are encouraged to verify their status, voting locations, voting hours and dates on the Secretary of State website before casting their vote," said Rodgers.

Absentee ballot applications are available on the Secretary of State website www.sos.ga.gov.
