School board meeting agenda

MILLEDGEVILLE —

The Baldwin County Board of Education meets at 5:30 p.m. today at the board office, 110 N. ABC St. The agenda includes: 

• call to order;

• Pledge of Allegiance;

• Roll Call - Establishment of a Quorum;

• Community/Public Participation;

• Recognition/Presentations - Relay for Life  - 100% participation -  Ms. Pam Tindal; Technology Fair Winners -  Mrs. Geneva Braziel/Mrs. Carol Goings; Science Winners - Mrs. Geneva Braziel/Mrs. Carol Goings; BLA Winners - Dr. Marilyn Skinner; Milledgeville Development Authority - Tax Abatement - Mr. Matt Poyner; Mrs. Tracy Clark, principal of Creekside Elementary will make a presentation to the Board on School Improvement, and the Initiative to address Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math;

• adoption of agenda - approve the adoption of the Feb. 11, 2014, Board meeting agenda as presented; 

• action items - Approve Minutes for the Meetings held on Jan. 13, 2014 and Jan. 14, 2014; approve February 2014 Personnel Recommendations as presented (Personnel List); approve the financial reports for the period ending Jan. 31, 2014, for all funds for information purposes only.  (TAVIT Report); approve financial reports for the Early Learning Center for the period ending Jan. 31, 2014,  for all funds for information purposes only; approve the changes to the ELC Memorandum of Understanding between Baldwin County Board of Education and the Baldwin County BOE Head Start and Baldwin County BOE Pre-Kindergarten Programs as presented; approve the changes to the ELC Policies/Procedures for Purchasing, Procurement and Assessing Funds as presented; approve the changes in the ELC travel and per diem reimbursements as presented.

• Old Business;

• New Business - approve a Resolution honoring February as Black History month as presented; approve Title 50 Resolution as presented; approve the Per Pupil Allotment for FY2015 as presented; approve overnight field trips for Baldwin High School: BHS SADD Officers - 2014 Youth & Young Adult Conference - Feb. 21-22, 2014 - Macon, Ga. (No Bus Needed); BHS HOSA - State Leadership Conference - March 3-8, 2014 - Athens, Ga. (one bus needed); BHS SkillsUSA - SkillsUSA State Competition - March 13-15, 2014 - Atlanta, GA (one bus needed); BHS FCCLA/ECE/Culinary Arts - State Leadership Conference/Competition - March 20-22, 2014 - Indigo Hotel Athens, Ga. (one bus needed); BHS FCCLA/ECE/Culinary Arts & FFA - Summer Leadership Conference - May 26-30, 2014 -  Covington, GA - (One bus needed) 

• approve grounds keeping contract as presented; 

• approve use of bus request from 4-H for Feb. 15 going to Rock Eagle. 4-H will pay for the driver and fuel; 

• approve federal budget for FY2014 recommendation as presented;

• Superintendent's Report - Sales and Use Tax Fund Report for the period ending January 31, 2014;

• Executive Session - for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter and any other matter as necessary; and

• adjournment.
