City Council holds work session Tuesday

MILLEDGEVILLE —

Milledgeville City Council will hold a work session at 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall. After the work session, Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. The work session agenda includes: 

• opening of meeting by mayor;

• Gregory Barnes - Campus Club update;

• Matt Poyner - quarterly update on the Economic Development Authority Activities

• Gregory Barnes - Unification; and 

• adjourn.

The regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be held in Council chambers. The agenda includes: 

• opening of meeting by mayor - prayer; Pledge of Allegiance;

• adoption of Jan. 14, 2014 Council meeting minutes;

• old business;

• new business: Ordinance O-1401-001 - first reading of an ordinance to consider rezoning 103 Lake Drive from MR2 to CC for use as an automobile repair shop; Ordinance O-1401-002 - first reading of an ordinance to consider rezoning 105 Lake Drive from MR2 to CC for use as an automotive repair shop; Ordinance O-1401-003 - first reading of an ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances to add an article dealing with motion picture, filming, television and photographic productions; Resolution R-1401-004 - Resolution to authorize an agreement with the Development Authority of the City of Milledgeville and Baldwin County to pay one-half of the principal and interest payments on improvements made to a 14.93 acre tract of land owned by the Authority; Resolution R-1401-005 - Resolution regarding proposed draft of charter for unified/consolidated government for Milledgeville and Baldwin County

• appointments - Mayor Pro Tem;

• new alcohol license applications - Clifton Bert Charnes II on behalf of The Local Yolkal Cafe located at 117 W. Hancock St. for beer and wine - consumption on premises; Otis Thomas, Jr. for the Corner Pocket located at 917 N. Wilkinson St. for beer and wine - consumption on premises;

• Special Events Alcohol License Application  - James Stafford on behalf of Capital City/119 Chops for an event to be held on March 8, 2014 at 201 E. Greene St. for beer, wine and distilled spirits

• Executive Session to discuss a legal matter; and

• adjourn.
