Top Cut offering Greencare for Troops

MILLEDGEVILLE — Families of the men and women currently deployed in the armed forces might receive free lawn maintenance for three months starting in April.

Top Cut Lawn & Landscaping owner Kevin Kirby announced the company is bringing Project Evergreen’s national initiative “Greencare for Troops” to Milledgeville.

The program links the military with local lawn and landscape firms.

An education at Georgia Military College taught the young Top Cut owner about the true service. This campaign is great community outreach.

“Lawn and landscape maintenance becomes a definite hardship when a family’s major breadwinner is on active duty away from home,” Kirby said. “The program seeks to ease this stress by helping burdened families with the important task of caring for their yard and landscape.”

Families interested in “Greencare for Troops” should visit www.topcutga.com to fill out an application. By April 1, Kirby said one deserving family will earn the free service.

Headquartered in New Prague, Minn., Project Evergreen is a national non-profit organization representing green industry service providers, associations, suppliers and distributors, media companies and other organizations and individuals.

Project Evergreen conducts national media campaigns informing U.S. consumers on the positive effects of well-maintained green spaces, including lawns and landscapes, sports turf, golf courses and parks.

Top Cut Lawn & Landscaping is fully insured and licensed. Call Kirby at 478-227-9MOW for more information.
