MILLEDGEVILLE — Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, GMC’s incoming president departed command of the Fifth Army on Sept. 4.
Caldwell departs command of Fifth Army, the same command his father, Lt. Gen. (ret.) William Caldwell III, held before he retired in 1980, both in their 37th year of service.
Jacoby was the senior officer for the ceremony and is the commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command.
Wiggins previously served as the deputy commanding general for U.S. Army North (Fifth Army) and was promoted prior to the ceremony to the rank of lieutenant general and then assumed duties as commanding general, Army North, and senior commander for Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis.
Caldwell was named the 21st president of Georgia Military College earlier this year.
