NEXus Pain Center offers relief to Milledgeville residents

MILLEDGEVILLE —

If you've been living with pain and are in need of a remedy then you are going to love The NEXus Pain Center. NEXus Medical Holdings has expanded its services to Baldwin County with a new NEXus Pain Center located on Fieldstone Drive.

The new NEXus Pain Center of Milledgeville officially opened its new location Jan. 14. A ribbon cutting and open house ceremony for the new pain center was held March 21. Mayor Bentley along with Matt Poyner, executive director of Milledgeville Economic Development, was in attendance to welcome the new business to the community.

The NEXus Pain Center of Milledgeville offers unique treatment options that include both advanced interventional methods and medication therapies. All procedures and interventional pain methods are facilitated by Dr. Jerry Spivey, Jr. Spivey is a board eligible anesthesiologist and fellowship trained pain specialist.

“While working as a pharmacist in Greene County, I noticed an increase in the use of narcotics to treat pain,” Spivey said. “My main goal at the NEXus Pain Center is to find alternative ways to eliminate the pain without the use of pills.”

NEXus’ medical team’s specialized training and equipment allows performance of highly specific epidural injections, radio frequency ablations, and therapeutic facet joint blocks to relieve specific types of pain.

“Regardless of your situation or how long you have been suffering, a consultation with us is the first step to finding a treatment plan that will work for you,” said Spivey. According to Spivey, residents in the Baldwin County area have been under served for their pain for so long, he has yet to see a procedure that hasn’t alleviated the pain immediately.

“We are a referral only practice but we will make referrals ourselves, depending on the patient’s needs,” said Spivey.

Referrals to orthopedic specialists and neurosurgeons are not uncommon practices at the NEXus Pain Center of Milledgeville.
