BCSO arrests shooting suspects

MILLEDGEVILLE — Unfortunately, shooting investigations are a common occurrence for local law enforcement with trails that can turn cold.

Two shrewd Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office detectives reversed the trend, solving a late November incident at the Milledgeville Manor. According to Capt. Brad King of the BCSO, Det. Dallas Parker and Det. Greg See completed a heck of an investigation that located both alleged shooting suspects.

On Monday, Nov. 25, just before 6 p.m. the BCSO received reports of shots fired in the Manor.

“It turns out that two guys shot at another and in the process hit three other vehicles,” King said. “They shot at this individual, and subsequently several other people, including someone sitting in her own vehicle in the parking lot, became victims also.”

County detectives found that Shedrick Green, 28, and Davonta Braddy, 19, were the alleged culprits.

“We’ve got very good eyewitness statements. We have not recovered a firearm, but we did find several sets of shell casings,” King said. “Through processing the scene, we were able to establish some credibility to the witness statements as far as how they say it happened and where everybody was when it started. We have a pretty good case on these guys.”

Based on collected evidence, both Green and Braddy are reportedly gang-affiliated.

King said the offenders were trying to establish a “foothold” in the neighborhood, according to the BCSO case findings to date.

“They were kind of on the rise to power,” the captain of detectives said. “That’s the position we are hearing those two gentlemen were in.”

However, BCSO officials are not sure if the shooting stemmed from a gang-related issue or a power struggle.

Green and Braddy are charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of possession of firearm by convicted felon.
