American Legion holiday bingo

MILLEDGEVILLE —

The American Legion Post 6 located on Log Cabin Road plays bingo every Monday at 7 p.m.

Lately, the attendance has been extremely low.

The approaching Dec. 23 game has an extra incentive. A regular bingo enthusiast donated $500 for a guaranteed jackpot.

“She donated the money to encourage more people to come out an play,” Legion Post member and bingo coordinator for the last eight years Bob Schneider said. “So far the word is out. We are looking for a big crowd.”

The average bingo night includes seven games that pay out according to attendance. The attendance has been low lately due to the economy.

Schneider said the post is fresh out of ideas to bring the crowds back each week.

“There are so many ladies that play. They make the rounds,” he said. “They love bingo.”

Participants pay $15 for a three-pack card. Up to $25 gets participants in all of the Monday night bingo games.

“They can buy more as we come around on the floor,” Schneider said.

The money raised pays bills at the Log Cabin post.

“We will explain every game prior to the start, so you do not have to be an experienced player, just enjoy the outing,” he said. “If we get 50 players, that would be a good night.”

Call 478-452-8538 for more information about the upcoming bingo night.
