MILLEDGEVILLE — Midway Elementary School students in grades three through five received lessons about the importance of good hygiene and healthy habits during the second annual health fair Wednesday.
Hosted by Communities In Schools of Milledgeville-Baldwin County, the health fair featured various vendors to give insight about proper teeth care, peanut allergies, health insurance plans, body fat and check student’s height, weight, blood pressure, eyes and spines.
Participating vendors included Wilkinson County High School, Peach State Health Plan, Pure Chiropractic, Baldwin EMC, Georgia State Patrol, Walmart Vision Center, Community Health Care Systems, Dr. Gregory Graham, Dr. Nolan Stephens and professional wrestler Anthony ‘Velvet Jones’ Hall.
One student from each grade was the winner of a bookbag filled with donated school supplies and water bottles through a drawing.
Scrubby Bear also visited students in kindergarten through second grade to learn about cleanliness.
