Shots fired on Ivey Drive

MILLEDGEVILLE — Law enforcement officials are investigating a shooting incident at a mobile home on Ivey Drive.

According to an incident report from the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a mobile home park in the 100 block of Ivey Drive Monday just after midnight in reference to gunshots being fired.

The victim said he was sitting on the front porch with some friends and family when he heard approximately four gunshots.

The gunshots came from the side of his trailer, which faces Allen Memorial Drive, he added.

Witness accounts of the number of shots that were fired varied, according to Maj. Lynnette LaRocque.

"Because of the time the incident took place, many people were in their homes asleep so deputies began to search the area for evidence," LaRocque said.

Deputies searched along the fence of the trailer park on the Allen Memorial side of the mobile home and found three .380-caliber shell casings.

"As of now we are looking into a possible suspect based on information received from the victim and a previous incident," LaRocque said.

The possible suspect is a relative of the victim who was involved in a battery family violence case reported to the sheriff's office on Saturday.

Based on previous threats and statements from the victim, law enforcement officials are pursuing the family member as a suspect in case.

The victim was unable to provide much information about the relative for deputies.

"Because he has lived at multiple addresses, it's harder to pinpoint his exact location," LaRocque said.

The shell casings were taken into evidence and attempts are still being made to locate the possible suspect.

The case has been turned over to the Detective Division.

"It's a terrible thing to happen, but thankfully no one was injured," said LaRocque.

Anyone with any information in regards to the shooting incident is asked to call Lt. Bobby Langford at 478-445-2552 or the sheriff’s office tip line at 478-445-5102.
