Manor shooting suspects indicted

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office recently arrested suspects believed to be involved a late November 2013 shooting incident at the Milledgeville Manor.

According to Capt. Brad King of the BCSO, Det. Dallas Parker and Det. Greg See wrapped an investigation locating both suspects.

County detectives found that Shedrick Green, 28, and Davonta Braddy, 19, were the alleged culprits.

A Baldwin County grand jury indicted both men Monday.

Braddy faces two counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Green, his alleged accomplice, was indicted for two counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the second degree, obstruction of officer (misdemeanor) and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

On Nov. 25, 2013 just before 6 p.m., the BCSO received reports of shots fired in the Manor.

“It turns out that two guys shot at another and in the process hit three other vehicles,” King said last month. “They shot at this individual, and subsequently several other people, including someone sitting in her own vehicle in the parking lot, became victims also.”

County detectives used good eyewitness statements and several sets of shell casings obtained through processing the scene to build “a pretty good case” against the suspects.

King said the offenders were trying to establish a “foothold” in the neighborhood. However, BCSO officials were not sure at the time of the arrests if the shooting stemmed from a gang-related issue or a power struggle.

Braddy and Green have a history of aggravated assault.

King said Braddy also has a rap sheet that includes thefts.

Once the investigation began, the BCSO secured warrants for Braddy.

The 19-year-old eluded law enforcement for nearly two weeks before being arrested over the Christmas holiday.

Patrol deputies apprehended Green near the incident area that November night.

King said Detectives See and Park did an “excellent job” making the most of difficult circumstances to build “one of the better cases” BCSO had in 2013.
