MILLEDGEVILLE — Good morning. Here’s a look at what’s happening today.





Weather: 





Areas of fog in the morning. Showers with a chance of thunderstorms in the morning then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 70s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent. Thursday night mostly cloudy in the evening then clearing. Cooler. Lows around 50. West winds 5 to 15 mph.

Best bet for today:

Check out Bingo at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 523 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Refreshments will be sold. 478-452-1611.

The YES Program is taking applications for the Baldwin High School Summer YES Program (June 2-26, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon) for all rising ninth grade students. Applications are available at the front office of Baldwin High School or by e-mailing julie.cook@gcsu.edu. Enrollment is limited. No transportation will be provided.

Upcoming events:

The Milledgeville Lions Club, assisted by Milledgeville fire fighters, will conduct its 29th Fishing for Sight fish-a-thon May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon (with a rain date of May 24). Kids five through 13 will compete for trophies at the Baldwin County Recreation Center’s big pond. Live bait, cane poles and a limited number of buckets will be provided.
