Police investigate second armed robbery

Three men rob Wireless Express

MILLEDGEVILLE — As Milledgeville police officials continue to look into leads related to an armed robbery occurring around lunchtime Monday at Radio Shack, another armed robbery has made its way onto their radar.

Around 1:28 a.m. Sunday night police received a call from Wireless Express located in the 1000 block of S. Wayne St. The storeowner reported being robbed by three men brandishing black guns.  The men were described as two black males and one Hispanic male, all three wearing black masks. The owner was told to lay face down on the floor. With a gun placed to the back of his head, the subjects demanded money. The victim gave the men $1,000 in cash.

"We are currently working on some leads at the moment but with no video surveillance and possibly no potential witnesses, it makes it a hard case," said Maj.  Reginald Hill, criminal investigations commander.

Hill does not feel the Wireless Express robbery is related to the robbery at Radio Shack.

"The radio shack incident was much more organized and planned whereas this one seems as if it was a spur of the moment crime," he said.

Police are currently trying to figure out more detailed information on Monday's armed robbery.

"We know there is someone out there who knows who committed these crimes and if they would help us out with any information it would be greatly appreciated," Hill said.

Anyone with any information in reference to either robbery is asked to call the MPD Tip Line at 478-414-4413.
